HLTPAT005 Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing
​This unit describes the skills and knowledge required to confirm collection requirements, prepare client and equipment and collect specimens following the special procedures that apply for drugs of abuse testing, including:

Urine Drug Testing

Oral-Fluid (Saliva) Drug Testing
-
Breath Alcohol Testing
​
This unit applies to individuals working in collection centres, in hospitals, in other health care environments and workplaces where drugs of abuse testing takes place.
​
HLTPAT005 Collect specimens for drugs of abuse testing is the minimum requirement for workplace drug and alcohol testing compliance.

Online Drug and Alcohol Testing Training
Online training is also available as an alternative option. This is a blended course with self-paced online learning (e-Learning) and the option of either one-on-one webinar or group face-to-face assessments. Before completing the assessments, students will need to complete their e-Learning which can be done online at their own pace. Depending on the student's learning ability, they should allow up to 6 to 9 hours for reading and e-Learning.
